Giving thanks

“We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men…..” ―Herman Melville

I do get a little sentimental at this time of year and this image seems to capture that idea of impermanence that this feeling brings up in me.  The beautiful, fading light of the evening sky over the Chihauhaun desert sitting at the entrance of the Terlingua ghost town cemetery.  Things that I am forever grateful  – amazing light, sunsets that say goodbye to the day, past generations that still tell their stories, and the strength to love them and then let them go.                                                      Terlingua, TX   2/13/2015
